I had the idea for this blog a few years ago although I have only been publishing posts since September 2014.

After reading a few posts I’ve had quite a few people ask me where the idea came from to combine leadership with the soundtrack of my favourite songs. The answer is quite simple – music is my radar!

But, why is music so great?

I think it works on four levels

  1. It inspires us. It can lift our mood or comfort us when we are down. It can get you on your feet dancing like your life depended on it, or accompany you on a chilled out session reading a good book (or writing a blog).
  1. It educates us. The best musicians use music to spread their message. They use lyrics to tell their story and share new ideas. Brain imaging technology developed over the last 20 years has shown that listening to music can have a profoundly positive effect on every part of our brain.
  1. It connects us. Being a fan of a particular band or group makes you part of a tribe. You could be 10,000 miles away from home but if you come across someone who likes the same music as you, there will be an instant connection that creates a bond and stimulates conversation.
  1. It makes memories. How many times has a track come on where it takes you back to an exact moment of your life that you can remember very clearly? Whether happy or sad – it’s a long lasting memory.

I want Stuck On Amber to do all these things. I want the words and the soundtrack to inspire, educate, connect and be memorable.

So, what about you?

Do you fill your life with your favourite tunes?

You should do, after all as Friedrich Nietzsche said, “Without music, life would be a mistake”

Make music your radar!
