Last weekend I was in the process of moving roles.

On Friday I finished at my old company and I handed in my smartphone and laptop – it felt very strange, like I was being disconnected.

Saturday and Sunday were my “in between days”.

I thought I would feel displaced, without having to think or worry about what emails were coming through and the reports I wasn’t writing. I thought I would feel lost.

In reality I actually felt quite liberated. Without those distractions I was able to enjoy the other things in my life even more. Helping my children with their homework, my gym session and talking over dinner all somehow felt better.

So my challenge is how do I take this feeling into future weekends?

How do I take this sensation from my in between days, now that I am back in gainful employment?
