Sales people are stereotyped as ruthless, prepared to walk over others to do the next deal.

Marketing people are stereotyped as being creative types only concerned with getting the message to the customer.

Finance people are stereotyped as just focussing on the bottom line and not about investing in the longer term strategy.

Procurement people are stereotyped as being obsessed with savings and inhibiting innovation because it can’t be measured.

HR people are stereotyped as being only concerned with making staff happy no matter what the cost.

But what if we acted outside of our stereotype?

What if we cared about the things we are not ‘supposed to’.

That’s what they call leadership…..
