Jack Welch is a legend in business. He achieved 4,000% growth for General Electric during his time as Chairman and CEO. He did this through a dedication to consolidation and simplification.
One of the areas Welch employed was his ideology for simplicity in how strategy is formed.
I was reading a book about Welch recently, where he made the following comment.
“Success is less a function of grandiose predictions than it is a result of being able to respond rapidly to changes as they occur.”
So, if you believe Welch, all those hours spent thinking up new ways to grow your business are wasted. All those reams of paper containing strategic documents are over estimated when it comes to achieving success.
To follow Welch’s lead and strive for simplicity, the most important thing is to keep “moving, just keep moving!”
