To show up every day and give your best takes guts.

The easy option would be to comply, to turn into a robot and just do what is asked of you, rather than seeking out the edge.

There are days when this probably feels like the better option. Being creative is an emotion labour that can be draining when the reward for great work is more work.

But the alternative is less fun.

The alternative involves standing in line waiting for instruction and never deviating from the path. Being seduced into thinking this provides an easy life is understandable but wrong.

Engaging in emotional labour is when we feel most alive. It is when our creativity shines through and we get to show our best self to the world.

Everyday robots have switched off to this possibility.

Don’t let it be you.
