Today is World Peace Day. 50 years after John and Yoko released this song, the concept of “peace” is more relevant than ever.

Created by the United Nations, the 21st September, is the day that the General Assembly has declared as devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace. Unsurprisingly, the 2019 theme is “Climate Action for Peace” which stresses the importance of combatting climate change as a way to protect and promote peace throughout the world.

As I read about the actions being taken by children around the world to bring attention to the climate crisis and implore Governments in every country to act, my thoughts are drawn back to a quote made by Mother Teresa who said, “If each of us would only sweep our own doorstep, the whole World would be clean.”

Sometimes it’s a small thing, sometimes it’s more significant but we all have the ability to act and make this world a better place for now and for the future!

What are you going to do?
